On 2 July 2025, the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) Strategy welcomed a group of 15 students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as part of the university’s GEM Trailblazer Summer Programme. Led by Professor Chew Soon Beng, a valued Labour Alliance co-laB (LAB) member from NTUC's labour research ecosystem initiative, the group included Singaporeans and international students from China, Hungary, and Canada.

Hosted at the NTUC Centre, the session introduced students to NTUC and Singapore’s unique model of tripartism, where unions, employers, and the government work together to advance workers’ interests. The students learnt about the Labour Movement’s evolving role in shaping inclusive workforce policies and uplifting workers across all sectors.

Highlights of the visit included an engaging Q&A session where students posed thoughtful questions about NTUC’s positioning and strategies and a brief walkabout around NTUC’s mural and gallery. There, students explored the rich history and key milestones of the Labour Movement in Singapore.

The visit provided a meaningful opportunity for the LAB member’s students to understand NTUC’s work in strengthening workers’ wages, welfare, and work prospects, as well as the values that drive NTUC’s mission of improving the lives of all workers of various collars.
